Gloscience Pro - Clinical Training Guide

1. Introduction

This guide equips HubSpot chat agents with clinical knowledge about GLO Science whitening systems. It focuses on product fundamentals, patient protocols, infection control, safety, and troubleshooting.

2. Core Whitening Technology

- Professional strength gels: 24% or 30% hydrogen peroxide, buffered with potassium nitrate.
- Activation: Controlled warming mouthpiece heats to optimal whitening temperature.
- Closed-system design prevents oxygen escape for efficient whitening.

3. Operatory Set-Up

Required tools and materials:
- Chairside kit with gel syringes and gingival barrier.
- Shade guide.
- Prophy handpiece with fluoride-free pumice.
- HVE suction, retractors, cotton rolls, micro brushes.
- Safety glasses, curing light, water cup, mirror.
- Single-Patient Whitening Mouthpiece (new standard; discard after each use).

⚠️ Autoclavable mouthpieces are no longer used.

4. Clinical Whitening Protocol

Step-by-step:
1. Record baseline shade and photos.
2. Apply gingival barrier.
3. Preheat device and insert single-use mouthpiece with whitening gel.
4. Run 2–3 cycles of 8 minutes each, suction between passes.
5. Remove barrier, rinse, and wait 5 minutes before final shade check.
6. Discard the mouthpiece after procedure.

5. Dual Whitening & At-Home Maintenance

- Follow in-office treatment with GLO Pro Power Take-Home kit (10% HP gel for 4 days).
- Reinforce maintenance: “Every whitening patient is a touch-up patient.”

6. Patient Selection & Safety

- Use 30% HP for resistant stains; 24% HP for younger/sensitive patients.
- Contraindications: severe enamel loss, untreated caries, pregnancy, severe crowding.
- Sensitivity management: potassium nitrate reduces risk. If sensitivity occurs, apply fluoride varnish.
- Single-use mouthpiece ensures OSHA compliance and eliminates sterilization risks.

7. Risk Management & Compliance

- GLO whitening meets ISO 10993 biocompatibility and medical device standards.
- Clinical evaluations confirm safety, efficacy, and low incidence of adverse events.
- Shelf life: 18–24 months, no refrigeration required.

8. Chat Agent Clinical Support Scripts

For Shade Questions:
“Most patients see 5–8 shades lighter after 2–3 passes.”

For Sensitivity Concerns:
“Our gel contains potassium nitrate. If mild sensitivity occurs, clinicians may apply a fluoride varnish.”

For Dual Whitening Guidance:
“Follow in-office treatment with the 4-day Take-Home kit for lasting results.”

For Safety Assurance:
“GLO whitening is ISO certified and clinically proven safe for enamel and soft tissue.”
